Our lawful bases for collecting or using personal information for service updates or marketing purposes are:

  • Consent – we have permission from you after we gave you all the relevant information about the newsletter you signed up to. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to object. To be clear, you do have the right to withdraw your consent at any time. The easiest way to do this is by unsubscribing to the newsletter.
  • Publicly available information – we will publish links to manufacturers or retailers if these are publicly available, such as from a website, a press release, or a social media post.

  • Legitimate interests – we’re collecting or using your information because it benefits you, and our organisation, without causing an undue risk of harm to anyone. All of your data protection rights may apply, except the right to portability. Our legitimate interests include:
  • Preparing information about auracast where contact details are given on marketing details, such as a poster, a flyer, a social media post, or host organiser’s website.

We will carry our periodic cleaning of the mailing lists to remove people who have unsubscribed. This will take place on an annual basis.
