Which Samsung devices have Auracast built into them? (May 2025)
Samsung has been one of the pioneers of bringing Auracast to the consumer market, starting back in 2023.
The company announced its backing for Bluetooth LE Audio starting in September that year, promising that it would broaden the spectrum of audio experiences and deliver a more complex and richer sound that goes beyond providing better-sounding music … while also sharing it with others.
The initial devices would be Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Samsung 2023 Neo QLED 8K and 2023 MICRO LED, with each getting the technology via software updates.
In its announcement, Samsung promised “With Auracast, users can turn their device into a shared radio station able to broadcast across connected devices.
“Leveraging the new LE Audio, it allows users to connect multiple sets of Buds to a TV while users could only connect a maximum of two devices previously.”
In the statement, Junho Park, VP and Head of Galaxy Ecosystem Product Planning Team, MX Business at Samsung Electronics, was full of praise for the potential of Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast.
“LE Audio is a perfect example that shows our commitment to connected experiences across our entire library of devices, and how Samsung is introducing new capabilities and technologies that bring them all together,” they said.
“As an innovator across a wide range of electronic devices — from smartphones to wearables, and from TVs to home appliances — we at Samsung are in a unique position to capitalize on delivering more seamless and extended experiences.”
The Auracast range was expanded the following year to include mobile phones and tablets, including the Galaxy S24 series. Part of its Smarter Living tech, it included Auto Switch for people wearing Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Buds2 and Buds FE. These would shift the connection from the device in use (such as a Samsung TV, laptop or tablet) to a phone when a call comes in and then back again.
Samsung inadvertently caused some confusion by not explicitly stating which television sets had Auracast built into them. This led to some unhappy customers taking to the internet to express their concerns.
In many cases, they had checked with Samsung customer services and been assured that the set they were about to buy had Auracast built in. This situation wasn’t helped by the manuals detailing how to connect to an Auracast if that feature was part of the set, without saying if it was compatible or not.
This confusion was also felt by retailers.
The manager of one retail chain told me: “Samsung TVs do seem to support Auracast to Bluetooth hearing aids”.
Just to be clear, this isn’t a conspiracy; it’s just an honest mistake. This is new technology and everyone is getting their heads around it.
Samsung continues to innovate with new technologies including Auracast
Sasmung continues to innovate with new integrations: its 2025 displays at the annual CES event saw Samsung announce Eclipsa Audio, partnership with Google to deliver 3D audio technology, which it says would give audiences captivating audio and visual experiences.
“We are proud to lead the industry with the integration of Eclipsa Audio into our 2025 TV and soundbar lineup,” said Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President and Head of the R&D Team, Visual Display Business, Samsung Electronics. “This innovation opens new possibilities for immersive audio experiences and reinforces our commitment to shaping the future of home entertainment.”
The company said that it will be integrating the technology across its 2025 TV lineup — from the Crystal UHD series to the premium flagship Neo QLED 8K models — to ensure that consumers who want to experience this advanced technology can choose from a wide range of options.
So with all this in mind, its readiness to deploy Auracast as standard in its phone ranges, and implementation of the Bluetooth 5.3 or 5.4 codecs, it wouldn’t be beyond the realms of expectation that televisions will also have Auracast built in.
And that’s the problem … at the time of writing, until there is a firmware update, Samsung’s sets remain Auracast-free unless you are spending thousands on the QN800 or QN900 series televisions.
Here is a current list of all Auracast-enabled Samsung products
We contacted Samsung to gain clarity on which devices in its inventory currently has Auracast enabled … but they may not be fully compatible with hearing aids even if they have Auracast built it.
This isn’t unusual as some Auracast-enabled gadgets won’t connect to bionic ears, and this situation will no doubt settle down in due course. We are attempting to find out more about why this is the case.
